This Day. Last night a fire occurred in Viewstreet, in an old two-storied boardinghouse, owned by T. B. Muir, and occupied by Mr. Chas. The fire originated in a bedroom lamp being left burning. A four-roomed wood house at Caversham, owned by F. Alton and occupied by a cabinet-maker named S. Holmes, was burnt down this morning. The furniture, tools, &c. , were insured for £100 in the New Zealand office, but he estimates his loss at double the amount. The building was insured in the North British Office for £100.
