KAKANUI.

This Day. Hislop and Shrimski, M. H. R.'a, addressed the electors here last night. The chair was taken by W. Moody. Both members briefly touched the nature and scope of the various public measures introduced during last session of Parliament, and intimated they were prepared to give intelligent support to the present Government. A unanimous vote of confidence was carried at the close of the meeting. Capt Matheson presented each of the members with a massive silver salver, in recognition of their services in and out of the district while in Parliament. Both gentlemen suitably responded.
