CHRISTCHURCH.

Saturday. A match between a combined team, including Lord Harris and other English visitors, and 11 of Canterbury, was played this afternoon, and resulted in a victory for combined eleven by 57 runs. Rumours have been flying about for the last two or three days respecting an impending large failure. It is now known that a private meeting of the creditors of William Saunders has been held. He was lately burnt out, and to that his supposed failure is said to be due. An announcement is expected to be made in a day or two. The amount of liabilities is stated at £100,000, mostly due to outsiders. .
