The following startling announcement was given out by the parish clerk m a small church m Somersetshire recently, where the rector has to divide his labours between two churohes : " I geeß notice nex' Sunday there wun't be no Sunday, 'cause Rector's goin' to t'other parish fishin'." By this the accustomed congregation understood that the clergyman would be officiating m another parish a few miles off.
At Wellington a boy, aged 13, named Richard Palmer, has been sentenced to * 48 hours' imprisonment and a private floggingfor a till robbery, and for stealing a gold ring. He was also ordered to be sent for three years to the Burnham Reformatory.
