MASONIC HALL.
What an unprecedented run of novelty has the J. P. Hydes' Gem Burlesque and Comedy Company ■ presented to us Gisborneitea, and " to-night they add novelty to novelty by producing the comedy of "Caste." "Caste" is, I should almost presume, within the full range of the capabilities of thiß (how many times shall 1 say it) well-assorted, or selected company ; for the various .characters almost appear to be drawn for them expressly. There's the lively Polly, represented by Miss Alice ; the ladylike Esther, (and where could she be equalled) Miss Lizzie Morgan' ; the true genuine English .officer, George Dalroy (Mr. Wilkinson), the affected but sterling Hawtree (Alexander), • ! the Plumper— l beg his pardon, Plumber — (Mi-. Love), and the scheming papa', Old Eccle3 (J. P. Hydes). Miss Jennie Nye, Misa. Amy Johns, Miss Lizzie Morgan, and Mr. R. Love will contribute their quota m the melange, and I hope that the worthy manager will say a kind word to us at ; parting. . : ," Sic transit gloria mundi." ' :
