At a late meeting of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce — a resolution condemning the existing bankruptcy laws was unanimously passed, and recommending that no bankrupt receive his discharge unless it should be shown that the estate would pay 10s. m the pound. The reckless trading and speculation induced by the existing laws were warmly commented on.
