Te Kooti's Warning.

WAIROA,

This Day. Te Kooti has warned the natives at Onepoto, Lake Waikaremoana not to eat or sleep in their settlements for one month or they will be destroyed by pestilence. The natives, in consequence, have left their Kaingas in a body, and camped out on the banks of the W.iikaretahiki river, awaiting further orders. At present there are ' only five men and a sergeant stationed at Onepoto. It certainly seems like tempting Providence to leave an importtant post in the heart of the Uriwera country, where Te Root's word is law, so weakly garrisoned.
