NAPIER.

This Day. The Native Lands Court sits at Tolago Bay on the 10th of March, for the purpose of hearing fresh claims, and to investigate succession claims. The barque Avona sailed for London on Saturday night, with a large and valuable cargo. Major Withers inspected the Volunteers m Napier on Saturday, and complimented them on their appearance and proficiency. The Major was afterwards entertained at a dinner at the Criterion Hotel by the Volunteer officers. Karaitiana Takamoana, M.H.R., is very ill. He has not partaken of any food for four days, and his friends have given up all hopes of his recovery.
