The gentlemen who have been returned to represent the interests of the rate payers, m the Cook County Conncil, should really make an endeavor to be move punctual m their attendance at the Council meetings. It is not fair to those, who setting aside their own private affairs, are present at the Council Chamber, only to find there is no quorum. Last night there was business of great importance. There were seven tenders to be considered, and the whole of these had to be held over to some day when the necessary number of Councillors may deem it convenient to be present. This ignoring of responsibility is most reprehensible. We will cite the case of Councillor Villers. This gentleman rode m last night from Ormond, a distance of twelve miles, and had to return m the black of the night, without being able to give his services. Loss of time, vexatious delay, and loss of money, was the only compensation he received.
