* [from our special correspondent.] Sydney, January 18. The International Exhibition at Sydney is fixed for September. A special race meeting was held today as a complimentary farewell to the Governor. It was a great success, and largely attended. Sir Hercules and Lady Robinson were enthusiastically cheered. Over won the Souvenir Handicap.
Brisbane, January 18. Mcllwraith has been intrusted with the formation of a new Cabinet.
Melbourne, January 20.
The Government has placed the Colonial war-sloop Victoria; at the dißposal of Lord Normanby to bring His Excellency and suite to Melbourne, as no vessel belonging to the New Zealand Government is available.- It is understood, however, that Lord Normanby declines the offer, on the ground of having made arrangements for the Arawata and the overland journey from Chrißtchurch.
