THE COUNCIL NOMINATIONS.

This day at noon, Captain Ferris, Returning Officer for the Borough of Gisborne, received nominations for candidates for a seat m the Borough Council, m the place of Captain Councillor Porter, who had been elected Mayor. Only one candidate was nominated. This was Mr. Daniel Page, proprietor of the Masonic Hotel. Mr. Page was consequently duly elected, which is publicly notified m our columns m this issue.
