GERMAN RAIDER SUNK
BY H.M.S. CORNWALL A German armed merchant cruiser acting as a commerce raider in the Indian Ocean was intercepted and sunk by TI. M,S. Cornwall. Twenty-seven British merchant seamen who were held on board the raider as prisoners were rescued. Fifty three of the crew of the -raider survived and are prisoners of war.
