COMMITTEE MEETING A commit too mooting was ’.old on Wednesday, Mr. G. Francis presiding. After routine business was completed llio matter of appointing a third selector, in place of Mr. Whjitebcad, who has declined the position, was discussed, and Mrs. Baker was appointed to the position. One resignation and nine applications for membership were received. Tlie secretary reported that since the beginning of the season there had been a total of thirteen resignations, and to date thirteen, new members lad been elected, while other nomination cards were still to come forward. The meeting resolved to inaugurate ladies’ and men’s handicap singles, under a, two-life system, as outlined by Mr. Richards, the competition to close on December Kith. The matter of entering a B-grade tc-i.m in the inter-club competitions was discussed at some length, but it was decided that under the existing rules, it war, not possible for the club to make an entry. The meeting then rose with a vote of thanks to the chair. Permission was granted the Stratford Chib to bold a bard court tournament at Stratford at Easter, It was decided to play the Taranaki CV ampkmshipK on the courts of the New Plymouth Club on nth January to Of!; January, inclusive.
