LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS

PATEA COUNTY The following have been nominated to represent the respective ridings of the Patea County.— Kapara Hiding (one vacancy).— Frank Kenneth Pearce. Moumahaki Hiding (two vacancies). —William George Belton, Douglas Christopher Jarvis, J(jhn Lupton.

Otoia Biding (four vacancies).— William Back, Albert James Gibbs, Daniel Hurley, junior, Eobert Jamesr Watt.

An election will be held in one riding only, that of Moumahaki, of which the present chairman is one of the re, presen tatives. PATEA HAKBOUB BOARD Mr. Alfred Pearce was elected unopposed for the Patea County (Otoia subdivision) on the Patea Harbour Board, and William Henry Watkins for t|ie Waverley subdivision of the Patea County, and Messrs Back and A. N. Williams for the Patea Borough and Waverley Town District. PATEA HOSPITAL BOARD

Mr. Hugh Middleton has been elected as W r averley Town Board represen. tative on the Patea Hospital Board. Mrs. A. A. Carey has been elected unopposed to the Patea Hospital Board as Patea Borough representative. Messrs W. Back, C. Campbell, A. J. Gibbs, C. E. Honeyficld, J. Lupton, W. HI Watkins and R. J. ‘Watt have been returned unopposed as the rep. resentatives of the Patea County on the Board. PATEA BOROUGH Mr. E. F. Hemingway was elected unopposed as Mayor, For the ' six seats on the council there are ten candidates, these being F. Naismith, F. Banxsbottom, A. H. Langalow, F. McKenna, E. W. Had. dow and R, J. Bromley, members of the present council, and S. R. Fuller. Sandys, G. W. Corbett, H. Clerke and J. W. Feild. The election takes place on Wednes. day May 11th. WAVERLEY TOWN BOARD - There are nine nominations for the five seats on the Waverley Town Board.
