A team of Wanganui bowlers played a . mutch against Waverley on Saturday on the local green for the Hum Cup, but wore unsuccessful in beating the home team. The game was very closely contested, at the last head the play being 17 all*. .Nicholls (Waverley) drew the shot and the Wanganui lead two inside the lino. Peppoi’ (Waverley) drew the next shot and forced Wanganui out. Two bowls were touching the jack at this stage of the game. Dustin (Wanganui) shot his bowl and Wanganui was one up. Aiken (Waverley) forced Dustin, showing Waverley one up. Bond (skip, Wanganui) kept off the head, and with his second drew the shot. Wicks (skip, Wavcrley) drew his shot inside Bond’s and won the match for Wavcrley with one shot.
