Miss Jean Parsons, who leaves with her mother this week on a holiday trip to England, was the guest of honour at a delightful bridge party at Mrs. 6. H. Graham residence on Friday afternoon, when Miss Phoebe .Graham was hostess. Miss Janet Train w'as presented with the prize for the highest score and Miss Helen Simmons with the runner-up prize. Best wishes q, were extended to Miss Parsons for a trip full of interest and happiness. Besides the guest of honour there were present Mesdamcs Handley (Waitotara), N. Or. Bremer, A. J. Alexander, B. Horner, J. G. Alexander (Maxwell), I. D. Parsons, A. E. Byrnes, Misses Train, Walkinton, P. Simmons, H. Simmons (Patea), N. Davidson (Patea), B. Lourio (Marton), Barrow, Mathieson, A. Graham, and M. Alexander, Brewer, D. Handley (Maxwell). Mr. E. C. Dallison, Wavcrlcy, has been re-appointed an honorary child welfare officer. Mr. and Mrs. Crichton, .Hawke's Bay, who have been spending a holiday in the Auckland district, were ■ (visitors to Wavorley last week, and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J, H. Mathieson. Mr. Crichton was for some time postmaster at Wavcrlcy. Mrs. Fleming has been spending a few days in Wanganui with friends. Hr. W. B. Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd arc om their annual holiday, and intend spending it in the New Plymouth and -Hawke’s Bay districts. Miss Joyce Shepherd is the guest of Miss Dallison. Mr. Adams, chemist, is at present in Waverley, and is the guest of Mr. Eames. Mr. McGregor, Miss McGregor, and Miss Nan McGregor were in Wanganui during the week-end in ox'der to take part in the reception to the Empire farmers.
