PATEA WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
COMMITTEE MEETING. A committee meeting of the Patea Women’s Institute was held last evening, those present being Mrs. A. A. Carey, president, Mcsdamca Moore, Laing, Walton, Adams, Roots, Gunn, Jones, W. White, hou, secretary, and Miss F. Hemingway, hon. treasurer. Apologies were received from Airs. B. S. Crawford, Mrs. J. A. Wither, and Mrs. T. Hills. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Mrs. Oldham’s resignation, duo to her departure for England this month, was received with regret. Accounts were passed for payment. The treasurer reported that there were now 102 financial members. Miesdames J. Baker and H. Ellis have consented to be tellers for the annual meeting to-morrow. Mrs. White, secretary, and , Miss Hemingway, treasurer, then presented the annual report and balance-sheet, for which they ’were complimented by those present. Mrs. Carey expressed regret at the loss of the services of Airs. Walton and Mrs, Hills, who were retiring from the committee. As this was the blit meeting of the old committee, Airs. Carey expressed her appreciation of the co-operation of the committee at all times, members suitably replying and expressing their appreciation of., Airs. .Carey’s courtesy during the year.
