PATEA WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
GARDEN CIRCLE. MEEITING OE COMMITTEE. A meeting of the committee of the Paten Women’s Institute Garden Circle was held in the Borough Council Chambers, on Friday afternoon, those being present being Mesdamos G. Gunn, (president), G. Mellon, W. H. Walton, G. H. Carey, and R. G. Crawford (hon. secretary). Councillor E. Naisnuth and Mr. J. Cunningham, the borough engineer, waited on the meeting and laid before members a plan of the rockery that is to be made at the base of the Gr.uth African war memorial in the Triangle. The plan was approved, and Messrs. Naismith and Cunningham thanked for their co-operation. It wr.o decided to plant a pohutahnwa tree in the centre of the reserve opposite St. Patrick’s Church on Arbor Day, members to meet there at 2..'50 p.m.. If the weather is fine enough, an adjournment will be made to the summer house in the Domain for al'tcruooiu tea.
