PLUNKET CONCERT.

A GREAT SUCCESS,

The concert and daxxcc in the Alton Hall on Friday evening, in aid of the Alton Plunket sub-branch funds, proved a great success, the hall being crowded, while the various items wore, a treat from beginning to end, the programme 'being one of the most enjoyable ever presented at Alton. Tho following was the programme: “Cradle Song,” Alton children. Pianoforte solo, .Miss J. Shcild, Song, “Dulcio and the Moa, ” Alton children. Bagpipes selection, Mr. R. W. llm> dow. Song, Mrs. T. Jones. Recitation, Miss Olga Hodge. Song, Mr. I. Jones. Highland dance, Mr. R. \V. Iladdow Song, Miss Marian Hamcrton. Duet, Mr. ami Mrs. I. Jones. Flute solo, Miss Branc. Song, Mr. J. Crawford. Play, “Between the Soup and the Savoury,” Misses M. Hamertou, J. Spurdle, and F. Hemingway. Mr. A. Sadler announced the items; At the conclusion of the concert, tho floor was cleared for dancing, Mr. K, Sharpe (piano), and Miss L. Sutherland (violin) supplying the music.

Miss Elsie Gibbs and Mr. R. Adams won the Monte Carlo dance, and Mrs, Dan Hurley won the guessing competition. Mr. L. Hunt carried out the duties of M.C. in his usual capable manner. A delightful supper was served by the Plunket members under the leadership of Mrs. Smithoram, president of the sub-branch.
