ST. GEORGE’S CHURCH

LADIES ’ GUILD. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Guild was held on Friday afternoon in the Sunday School. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdamcs Hams- , bottom, Lesley, Pettigrew, Prescott, and Sister Harris. There were present: Mesdamcs W. H. Walton, C. E. Honeyiield, L. Honeylleld, W. T. Armstrong, N. Goad, C. Carey, A. Carey, W. Spooner, G. Laing, L. Adams, W. Kelly, M. A, Pearce, T. Blackman, Misses Pearce and E. Honeyiield. Mrs. Kelly, secretary, read the report and presented the balance-sheet. The vicar, in moving the adoption of tire report, said the Guild was to be congratulated on its work. In spite of the fact That during the latter part of the year the work of members had been diverted to assisting the carnival queens, yet the Guild had donated to the parish funds a sum of £6S (is tid, with a credit balance in the Post Office Savings Bank of £3 10s. The loyalty of the members of the Guild to the church was wonderful, laithful service spoke louder than words in the long run. The parish needed many more such loyal workers. Thanks’ were due to their untiring efforts, especially to Mrs. Kelly, the secretary, and the president, Mrs. Walton. The election of officers for the *nsning year was as follows: Patron: Mrs. Honeyiield, sen. President; Mrs. Walton. Vice-presidents: Mrs. C. E, Honeyiield, ,F. Eamsbottom, and W. T. Armstrong. (Secretary: Mrs. Kelly. Mrs. Walton, in accepting office , again, appealed for the loyal co-opera-tion of the Guild's work from parishioners. It was decided to hold a chrysanthemum Show early in May.

The members of the Guild were entertained to afternoon tea by the president, after which the meeting closed.
