A SUCCESSFUL CAMP,

A very successful camp was held by the local platoon of Territorial Volunteers at the local Domain from Friday to Sunday. The camp was in charge of Lieut. It. W. Haddow, D.C.M., and was visited on Friday and Saturday by Major Itowc, D. 5.0., N.Z.S.C., who was accompanied by Captain Hunt, N.Z.S.C., and expressed himself as being very well pleased with the bearing and work of the men in camp, and with the camp arrangements. On Friday evening some good work was done with Yerey lights, tracer, and ordinary ammunition, and on Saturday bombing practice was indulged in under Sergeant Major Stevens. The camp broke up yesterday, when both officers and men expressed their appreciation of the assistance rendered tlmm by the Domain Board and the townspeople. The Domain proved to be an ideal site for a small camp, and the hope was expressed that it Would bo available for the men at a future date.
