The Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption at Onchunga was broken into on Thursday night and two sacred vessels valued at £3O were stolon. It was found that the back door of the church had been forced open. Further investigation disclosed that the lock on an inner door leading- to the sacristy had been forced. There were five chalices in the room, three of silver and two gilded. The two gilded arc missing. The thief obviously was mistaken and took them for gold.
