BOXER AFRAID OF HIS WIFE
DOMINION MAN IN SYDNEY , COURT. ' , Charles Purdy, the New Zealand boxer, former welterweight champion of Australia, summoned his wife before a Sydney court on July 27 alleging she used threatening words. Ho complained she threatened to shoot him and used foul language. % Mr. Roach, solicitor for the wife, asked: ‘‘Arc you frightened of your wife?” • “Yes,” replied Purdy, ‘‘She is a bad woman likely to .do anything. ’ ’ Purdy added that he was anxious to leave Australia and return to New Zealand. The magistrate bound the wife over on a bond of £lO to be of good bchaviouh for 12 months. '
