ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of Alton parishioners of the Church of England was held on Wednesday, the Rev. O. Gibson presiding over a fair attendance. The minutes of the previous annual meeting were read and confirmed. The annual report and balance-sheet were read, the latter showing a very satisfactory credit, balance on the year’s working. The resignation of Mrs. Clcmance as hon, secretary was read, Mrs. Clenianee being about to leave for Horopito

In moving that the resignation bo accepted with regret, tho vicar referred in eulogistic terms to the valuable services rendered by Mrs. .Clcmance during tho time she had resided in tho district, and wished her every happiness and prosperity in the future.

Mr. E. Burnand w T as re-elected vicar’s warden and appointed to the secretaryship.

The following committee was elected for the year: Mosdamcs A. J. Gibbs, Burnand, Macdonald, Foreman, S. Hodge, and Mlse Elsie Foreman, and Messrs. Atkinson, J. Gibbs, jun„, G. Jeffries, and G. Anion. Miss Burnand was asked to act as local missionary box secretary.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned;
