PATEA DOMIN BOARD.

ORDINARY MEETING. The ordinary monthly meeting of the Patea Domain Board was held on Friday, Mr. E. F. Hemingway presiding. Messrs. Roberts, Ramsbotton, and Jenkins wore also present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Apologies for non-attendance were received from Messrs. Papps and Cronin. The (hairman reported that the tops of the memorial gates had broken ; way. The concrete had been reinforced with a piece of wood about half an inch thick instead of a steel rod. It wa.s unanimously resolved that Mr. Jackson be asked to finish off the tops with pyramid shaped caps. The chairman reported lie had received an offer to graze some sheep in the Domain. It was decided that the offer could not be entertained in view of the fact thatt the school sports were icing held on the 22nd inst. It was decided on the motion of Mr. .tamsbottom, seconded by the chairnan, that the hearty thanks of the board be tendered Mrs. Petersen for her offer to sell poppies on Poppy Day, the proceeds to be devoted to the upkeep of the local memorial to those from the district who foil in the Great War. A report was tabled on the state of the board's pa'ddocks, which were formerly overgrown with lupin. It was stated that all but one were in firstclass order. It was decided to give the tenant of this paddock notice to clear the lupin before April 30, otherwise the board would resume possession. Accounts were read and passed for payment and the hoard rose.
