CRISPIES.
Take 2 cupfuls rolled oats, I cupful sugaT, : cupfnl self-raising flour, -J cupful butter or dripping, 1 tablespoonCul treacle or golden syrup, I teaspoonfnl soda. Mix oats, sugar, and butter (together. Molt butler and golden syrup together. Put soda into a eup with IJ or I tablespnonfuls boiling wtiter, and add to butter and .syrup. When this mixture boils up. add to the dry ingredients. Put on hot tray ("about :t teaspooaful tit a time), and bake in moderate oven till a nice brown. Do not remove from (ray until cold, when they will have hardened.
