The coursing during the year was mostly of a high standard—the best, tlie committee consider. in the history of the club. The thanks of the club are due to those who donated trophies and assisted the club financially, and those who assisted by trapping and training hares; those who helped to keep the ground Tn order, and others who gave the club tlie use of their cars.

Thanks were also due to the judges. .Messrs. .Gardner and Haskell, and tin slippers, Messrs. Dobbin, Bhcahan, and Doughty, and also Mr, and Mrs. Bourke tor the use of the ground and generous hospitality. Mr. E. Galileo is again tie, club’s representative on tin N.Z.N.C.A. committee, and lie ad vises that the "Waterloo Cup this year will he run at Invercargill, and that should the club desire the Jixturc Toi the next season they should apply about August or September of this year. The annual balance-sheet was also read. In moving the adoption of the xc port and balance-sheet the chairman said they must all agree that the season li.-ul been a most satisfactory one. In spite of the fact that Jive caps had been won last year the club still had two trophies in hand. The club had to thank Mr. Eugene Hurley for his generous assistance, and also Messrs. Morse, Simpson, Dunn, and others for unaneial assistance. During the past season there had been rather too much chopping and changing with regard to judges and slippers. The next Waterloo Cup would be held about the middle of July in Invercargill. Jt was unfortunate • this was being held so far from this district. The extension of coursing from September to October was not right in the speaker’s opinion. He did not think coursing should bo held after the end of August. /The extension might suit the youth Island but not the North. He would conclude by extending a hearty welcome to the visitors from Hawera and Opunako. The resolution was seconded by Mr. L. Hunt and carried unanimously. The chairman mentioned that during the last season the club had lost one of its vice-presidents, the late MivJ. Sheild. It was decided that the sympathy of tin- chib be tendered to the relatives of the deceased. .Mr. Morse reported that the Hawera Brewery Company had promised a enp each yeai’: to be won outright. The ’election of oflicens was then proceeded with and resulted as follows: Patron: Mr,' A. T. Christenson. President; Mr. das. Paterson. Vice-presidents: Messrs. Dr. .Simmons, It. Dunn, Morse, E. Secretary: Mr. Frank McKenna Hon. Treasurer: Mr. J. Paterson. Hon. Auditor: Mr. D. P. Palmer. Tho chairman reported that the 'fences around the home paddock wore in bad order. Mr. E. Hurley had very generously offered to donate the necessary posts. (Applause.) Before the meeting concluded Mr. Hurley, in a brief speech, referred to the valuable services rendered to the club by thd (retiring president) Mr. •I. A. McKenna, who had recently been elected a vice-president- of the New Zealand National Coursing Association. He thought that the least members could do to show their appreciation of Mr. McKenna’s services to the club was to elect him a life member and he would move accordingly. This was seconded by Mr. L. Hunt and the resolution on being put to the meeting by the secretary was carried unanimously with acclamation. This concluded the business and the meeting then adjourned.
