FAULTS IX COXSTEUCTTON. FLOOR OF ROOM COLLAPSES. Fears for the stability of a whole wing of the Vatican wherein the Pope has private and official apartments Acas felt when the floor of tAvo large rooms on the ground floor suddenly collapsed. The rooms were formerly a part of the quarters of the Palace Guard. They were fortunately momentarily unoccupied. Engineers found the collapse was due to the failure of the vaulted ceilings of the cellars, Avhich had been carelessly built. They had already suffered much decay in the last three centuries,
