With two large linen handkerchief’s, you can mala 1 a tray (doth. Join them together with a pretty piece of lace insertion, and sew a matching lace edging round the whole. A smart afternoon teaclolh can lie m'ade in the same way with four handkerchiefs. A fine embroidered handkerchief makes a dainty hair-tidy. Lay it on the table in front of you, diamond wise, and fold the two side corners together. Join those two sides together 'and sew a loop of ribbon on the top point. Tune with coloured paper.
With a colon real silk handkerchief, you can make an effective electric light shade. Cut a circular hole in the middle, roll and oversew it neatly. Trim the corners with fairly heavy beads. For a handkerchief sachet take three handkerchiefs —one plain and two embroidered. Cut the two embroidered ones in half from corner to corner, making four triangles, witli embroidery on each. Now sew the long side of each triangle to each side of the plain handkerchief, so that all points meet in the centre. Tune with coloured hunt, and finish with a bow where the points meet.
