All the members of Mr. Coates’ Ministry, except Mr. Anderson, were born in the Dominion. Even Mr. Anderson, wto was born in Bendigo, Victoria, arrived in New Zealand at the age of tivo years, so that he may almost be described as a New Zealander. Mr. Coates is, of course, the first Prime Minister who has been born in the Dominion, Messrs. Gordon Fraser and J. Jackson have returned home after competing at various sports meetings in the North island. They brought with them five trophies, Mr. Jackson securing two firsts and Mr. Eraser a first, second, and third.

Mr. N. T. Lambourne, of Auckland, has been appointed to succeed Mr. P. G. A. Stuckey as senior inspector of the Wanganui Education District.
