ordinary meeting. . The ordinary monthly meeting of the Waverloy Town Board was held on Wednesday, Mr. R. P. Palmer presiding. Messrs. Dallison, Adlam, and Wichs wore also present. The minutes of ,the previous. meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read as under: — The Municipal Association wrote as under: In reply to your letter of 14th inquiring whether the board can under the Incorporated Act of 1924 require owners or occupiers of land to fence same oil street, whenever the public safety or convenience renders it expedient the board can by by-law require any allotment to bo fenced on its street frontage. It was resolved that owners of sections concerned be notified to fence same.

ENGINEER’S REPORT.

The engineer ’-a report was read as under: —The plant has been operating satisfactorily and there arc no defects to report. Owing to the dry spell of weather I found it necessary to close the plant maintain both the lighting and water services. Although the head of water has improved, it will not be advisable to extend the hours under present conditions. The aluminium mains along the main street have been taken dow'n and replaced with triple-braided copper cable. Three now lighting installations have been wired up, and two of them connected to the supply mains. The other installation will bo connected as soon as alterations to lines in this street are made to suit. Several minor repair and extension jobs have been attended to. The street lamps required for the main street have been difficult to obtain, consequently this street was without light for a few nights. After some trouble I managed to obtain some suitable lamps of low candle power. These are at present in use. Repairs have been made to the overhead lines in several places, and b.t. fuses fittted at intersection of Brassey and Gloag Streets. Repairs have been made to the filter also general overhaul and usual scouring of same. la reference to the above it would be advisable to have a drain pipe laid from sump below filter, so that surplus water from washing out can be carried away instead of running all over foundations as at present. G. Beer, assistant, has completed his annual leave and resumed duty 0a 9th inst.

WAVERLEY DOMAIN BOARD. An application was received for the transfer of lease of Domain section from John Fcatherstone to L. R. Nielson. The transfer was granted. It was resolved that the chairman and Mr. E. C. Dallison inspect the lawn mower offered for purchase. Accounts amounting to £ll 18s Gd were read and passed for payment, and the board rose.
