HUNTING
EG-MONT-WANGAATUI CLUB On Wednesday last the Egmont-Wan-ganui Hunt Club had a highly successful day on the properties of Messrs McPhillips, Young, Russell, Joyce, Ryan, J. J. Patterson and Cottorill Bros. The meet was at Mr McPhillips’ homestead, on the Sutherland Road, whore a hearty welcome was extended to the Club by Mr and Mrs Young. Several hares were put up, but no kills resulted. At a chock on Mr Russell’s property Mr and Mrs Russell provided timely refreshments. On reluming to the homestead, Mrs Young had provided afternoon tea for the members of the Club.
Mr Alick Mitchell (dcpnty-mafter) thanked Mr and Mrs Young for their hospitality, and Mr Young replied, assuring the members that he was always ready to entertain them. Mr 11. L. Spratt thanked the property owners for the use of their country. Mr J. R. Russell, in reply, said the Club was welcome to his laud, and on behalf of Messrs Patterson, Ryan and •Joyco, lie could say the same.
Mr Wilcox invited the Club to a hunt at his farm on a date to be arranged, the announcement being received with cheers. Before leaving, the deputy-master proposed the health of tlie cost and hostess, which was given with musical honours.
