“MANHANDLED” SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING

“Manhandled,” Gloria Swanson’s new Paramount picture, 'was produced by Allan Dwan from Arthur Stringer’s story that ran serially in “The Saturday Evening Post.” Miss Swanson h.as the role of a shop girl in a department store, who learns that just as goods at the counter become damaged through too much handling, so does a girl’s charaetw become a byword if she makes her company cheap. Miss Swanson combines mimicry, broad comedy, tears and pathos for one of the best character delineations she has ever brought to the screen.
