Ceorge’e Sunday School and Mr St rout.-; ‘ Farewell Committee, vegetables from Mr Atkinson; wild pork from Mr Lockhart; flowers from Mr C. H. Fairweather, Mrs P. Scowu and Mrs It. W. Hamerton; magazines from Messrs Jones and Son (Wanganui) and Mr J. Gibbs ; Alton.

AH Druids arc requested to meet at the Druids' HaJl at 1.30 p.m. to-day to attend the funeral of the late Bro. J. C. Hulbert.

The District Public Trustee, Mr C. Prey berg, will pay a visit to Patea on Monday next, when he may be interviewed at the "Press" Office.

"Mr and Mrs Spoil dulix" were eagerly sought after yesterday, /but, strange to say, neither were discovered. The Bulb Show Committee ha\ T c therefore decided to give the holders of tickets another chance, and two other persons have been allotted these elusive personalities for to-day. This time there should bo no difficulty in idcutiiying them. It may bo mentioned that on Wednesday Mr Bcmpb; was "Mr Bpondulix" and Miss T. Gibson avus "Airs Bpondulix."

With reference to Monday’s fire in Norfolk Wtrect, we understand from Mr E. O. Horner, local agent for the Commercial Union Assurance Co., that a satisfactory settlement with regard to the furniture insured has been effected by the company, which speaks avoll for the promptitude of the institution. Those who have property of any description uninsured would ’do well to peruse the advertisement of the company, which appears in another column.
