The object of the Rest Room was primarily to provide a resting place for women when spending a day in town, but t,he Union hoped to get into touch with women from the country and to keep them supplied with up-|to-datc knowledge of women’s movements. In response to the president’s invitation, Mrs Duxfield was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her attendance and able address. Afternoon tea was dispensed to a constant crowd of interested visitors from 2 to 4.15. In this connection the ladies wish to thank Mr and Mrs Shipton for their generous help in providing boiling water and tea. The Union is delighted with the interest taken in the movement, and feel confident that the room will supply a much-felt need in the town .
