Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report saving received the following cablegram from their London house under cate of the 26th ult. — WOOL SALES. Wool sales closed firm and active with brisk competition. As compared with last sales closing rates Merino wool greasy 2d to 3d higher, Merino wools scoured 3d to 4d higher half bred greasy 2d to 3d higher. Good bright crossbred fine quality greasy 2d to 3d higher, ordinary half bred fine quality greasy Id to 2d higher, crossbred med. ium, greasy Id to IJd higher, crossbred coarse greasy id to £d higher, crossbred line scoured 3d to 4d higher, cross bred medium scoured 2d to 3d crossbred coarse scoured 4 to Id higher, slipe fine crossbred 2d to 2Jd higher, ditto medium 14d to 2d higher, ditto coarse Id to lid higher; lambs wool Id to li higher. The offerings amounted to 94,100 bales free including 44,525 New Zca>_ land and 15,500 South American. B.A.W.E.A. offered 45,793 bales. 118,. 000 bales Australasian, 15,508 South American wore sold; 50,000 to tie Continent, 8,000 to America, and 6,000 were held over and 3,000 were withdrawn. Demand for New Zealand mutton, has, been checked but increased prices asked. Forward sales are difficult to effect.
