WAR MEMORIAL COMMITTEE.

ORDINARY MEETING. A meeting of the Patea War Mem. orial Committee was held on Monday, Mr J. H. Cronin presiding. Messrs Harrison, Strouts, Hemingway and Locker were also present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.

The Socretary reported that , Mem. orial Services had been duly held at Patea and Alton on Anzac Day and were most impressive. The services were greatly appreciated by the Alton and Patea residents. It was decided to write and tender the hearty thanks of the Committee to the Bandmaster and members of the Patea Municipal Band for their assistance on Anzac Day. The Secretary reported that a balance was still duo to the contractor for the memorial gateway, and also a further sum for expenses - in connection with Anzac Day. It was decided to invito the public to subscribe to make up the deficit. Anyone willing to assist is invited to forward donations to the secretary or any member of the Committee. There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
