Wellington, April 23. In view of sonic recent criticism which suggested that there should be no delay in building the Minister of Education (Hon. C. J. Parr) issued a statement which he thought might bo instructive to school committees and to people concerned in education general, ly. This statement shows the annual expenditure on educational buildings for the last ten years as follows: — £ 1912- 82,277 1913- 102,083 1914- 112,520 1915- 70,245 1916- 58,530 1917.18 55,016 1918- 93,830 1919- 173,309 1920-21 427,846 7921-22 521,498 Total £1,697,134
