POPPY DAY.

Poppy Day observance, so far as Pa. tea was concerned was concluded on Saturday, when a stall was held in the main street by the Mayoress, Mrs J. J. Holtham, assisted by Mesdames Adams, 0. Carey, Ferry and Cooper. Good business was done throughout the day, though the quantity of produce offering was not as great as that usually brought forward. Still the Poppy Day fund was able to be augmented, thanks to the efforts of the ladies who worked like Trdjans during the day. The bag of onions donated by Mr Matthews was won by Mr Boagey, and the large pumpkin given by Mr W. Jones went to Mr G. O. Taylor.
