SHOOTING.

LADIES' DAY. A special clay was held for ladies on th'c rifle range on Saturday, when a match was fired, each competitor being nominated by a lady. The match was keenly contested, some very good scoring being registered. Messrs. D. McLean and tied for first place (score 64), and shot off •three, times in each getting an ecjnal score. Mr. McLean finally the victor in the fourth shoot by two points. His nominator was Mrs. X. McLean, the nominator for Mr. Hone (second place) •being his mother, Mrs. Hone. The following arc the scores registered:— McLean 64, AV. H. Watkins R. AVatkins 63, T. Peopell 02, Hone 64, Aiken 63, D. AValkcr 62.
