RICH WOMAN’S SONS.
Mrs. Emma Bordoll, the millionaire w'ulou- of a .Philadelphia brewer, has been found guilty of conspiracy wilh four others, in aiding her sons to evade the draft for military service during the war. Grover Bordoll was arrested at the end of the war and sentenced to a penitentiary. He was later allowed to visit his home, when he escaped, and is still missing. The other older son, Erwin, surrendered, and is now serving a sentence of four years' imprisonment. BLIND 'WIFE ATTACKS BLIND HUSBAND. Two blind people figured in an assault case at West Ham Police Court, when 'Elizabeth Dean (•!’>) was charged with boating her husband Joseph. .‘Joseph's story was that his wife came home the worse for drink, threw a water.jug at him, which missed, and (hen hit him on the head, cutting him badly. Elizabeth, who said she was provoked by the names her husband called her, was bound over under the Probation Act. BORN JN THE Alt;. In the canine world Ihe distinction of being the lirst dogs to be born in the air belongs to puppies which lirst saw the light of day in an aeroplane, being piloted by Lieut. Poget, of the French Army, in a flight from Paris to Rome. Their nationality is an. interesting problem, in Jlmt they \seie born in a French aeroplane flying over Italian territory. The mother of these puppies is Joliet te, Lieut. Roget's mascot, who always flics with him. She is an English fox terrier, and possesses all the intelligence for 'which that breed of dogs is famous.
