HIGH COMMISSIONER ’« REPORT. the Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated November 20, from the High Commissioner:— Meal English trade dull, but prices have advanced owing to short supply, and owing to the absence of Dutch. Hemp—Manila market dull and declining owing to the absence of buying interest. “J” grade Novomber-Janu-ary shipment sold early this week £(j:s per ton; but later £(SO 10s per ton. tellers’ present quotations arc: AugustOetobcr shipment, £63 pjr ton; Oct.Dcccmbcr shipment, £6l per ton. Output January 1 to November 15, 972,000 bales, against 980,000 bales. New Zealand market quiet, no transactions reported. Quotations unchanged: High points, spot, £35; fair, 53 per ton; Oct.December shipment, £53 and £sl res-

pcctively. Wool—Sales close to-day. There has been no change compared with .opening. Attendance good, but competition unsatisfactory; large proportion offering withdrawn. Good merinos and line crossbreds sold at decline as already indicated. Practically no coarsebreds have been sold, and scoured and sliped sold very poorly.
