THE HAWERA MALE CHOIR
A .MUSICAL TJitiAT. Whether it was that the notice was rather sjiorl or that the I'alea people are not lovers of -music, j| is diflicult to say; but the fact remains (hat only a moderate number attended at the Town Hall last night to hear the Orchestral Keeital by the Hawera Male Choir and Orchestra. Those who were present, however, acknowledged that they had been provided with a musical treat seldom offered in I'atea. The whole of the items were good, Miss Horner, who is always a favourite with I'atea audiences, receiving a triple encore on one occasion. 'Mr' W. LMcClelliin, to whom the success of the Choir is largely due, also earned unstinted praise for his recitation, proving himself as able a reciter as he is a musician. The next recital will be looked forward to with interest by those who were present last night.
