RAILWAY GOODS TRAFFIC
LIST OF ACCEPTED ARTICLES The goods traffic on the railways will he reduced to a minimum ns from today. The only goods that will be transported by rail will be : Live stock required by butchers for slaughter to meet local consumption. Foodstuffs, such as meals (fresh and preserved), fish, bread, flour, sugar, jam, (ea, coffee, etc. Milk, cream, butler and cheese. Frozen moat and wool consigned direct lo ships for shipment. Household requisites, such as kerosene, soap, lamps, brushwarc, etc. Household furniture and effects of persons moving. Coal and firewood. Crain (for immediate gristing), potatoes ami other vegetables, fruit. Benzine am! other motor spirits. Lime amt manures for agricultural purposes, consigned direct fo farmers, and ehatf for feeding live stock ; but the quantities must in every instance bo limited to the minimum to cover bare necessities. Lime, salt, and meat bags for freezing works. Lime for tanneries and gasworks. Posts, slakes, wire, seeds, and agricultural machinery consigned direct to farmers.
Returned empties (such as fish boxes, (ish casks, butler and eliee.se boxes, etc) to be used for conveyance of foodstuffs sind other essentials ; shooks for making fruit eases, butter boxes, cheese mates, and casks.
