PERSONAL.
Mr and Mrs Sutherland left on Thursday on a visit to Auckland and the Hot Lakes district. The many friends of the Rev. W. Watson, who has been in charge of the local Methodist Church for the past three years has been re-appointed for another terra. Word was received last week from Corp. Norman Tinney, stating that he was fit and well and was leaving shortly for New Zealand. Corp. Tinney had the good fortune to form one of the N. Z. Army of Occupation that proceeded to Germany at the conclusion of hostilities, journeying by way of Brussels, Liege, Namur and other historical places. The many friends of Rfn. L. P. Hamerton will regret to learn that it was found necessary to amputate his right leg above the knee as the result of wounds received in the British offensive on the Western front last year. Rfm. Hamerton’s name has as length been removed from the dangerously ill list, and he is making good progress towards recovery.
