W.C.T.U.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE,
The 31st Annual Convention of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union opened in St Paul’s schoolroom, Wanganui, on Wednesday, Mrs Don. Dominion President, in the chair. A special feature of interest to the Patea Branch was the fact that they won the Banner, having the largest increase (per cent) of membership during the year. During the morning session on Friday it was resolved that the Dominion W. C. T. U. urge all their Unions to collect funds for a patriotic purpose. That all temperance organisations be asked to contribute to the funds to be acknowledged in the press to the credit of the organisation contributing them; and that the Y.M. O.A. be asked to administer the funds.
