A very Dleasing event took place at the Kohf Public Hall on '.Tuesday evening last when some fifty residents of the district gathered together to bid farewell ta tbe popular postuiis'ie;s, MissG Dmry who hna held the position for some years. | Mr W H Watkins presided and in making the present »tion ssid the settlers I felt they could not let Miss Orury leave the district without giving expression to their feelings in a more substantial manner than words could convey. During the time Miss Drury bad baeti at tbe postoffioe she had not ouly proved herself efficient but had always been most courteous and willing to help in every way both as regards her duty at the office and in giving arsistanca with any social entertainments that had been held in the district. On behalf of the Kohi settlers he had much plea rare in presenting Miss Drury with a valuable gold bangle, and a purse of sovereigns as a slight token of tb?ir Appreciation and the same time wish'ng her prosperity wherever she might go. Miss Drury in thankiog one and all for their valuable gifts and their kiud expressions, said wherever she went she would look back with pleasure to the many happy days spent at Kohi After a bountiful supper had beenpirtaken of (provided by the Kohi ladies) dancing and singing were kept up till the early hours, the munio being supplied, by Mrs Drury, Mr B Taylor and Mr Pickering of Wanginui.
