WAVERLEY TOWN BOARD.

Ordinary Meeting The ordinary monthly meeting of theTown Board .was in the Town Board’s meeting room on Thursday evening, Mr R Macdonald presiding. Messrs J Linklater J Dalton, A Cathie and S Price were also present. The minutes of the previous ma ting were read and continued. II was resolved that Messrs Williams, Duffy and Catanach’s tender of £2 15s 6d for ventilator at the Town Board’s buildings be accept d and that Mr' Cathie arrange to have J»he work done. ■Balances wore reported as under; Loan Account or £1902 9s 7d, General Account £132 14s 9d. Separate Account, cr £2O 13s 4d. Accounts were passed as under : Loan £IOO, General £66 11s 2d, Separate £3 2s. It was resolved that the agreement between the Board and Mr Climie be signed and aea’ed by ihe Chairman and Mr Pries An account of £l2 12s Bl from Mr Treadwell for v legal advice to the l ite Board was discussed at length and it was finally decided on the motion of Mr Dalton, seconded by Mr LinkLt >r that the account bs referred to Mr Graham for his opinion. It was resolved that the oleik w.-ita the clerk Patea Hospital Board and ascertain how the new ass o s3ment was made up, Mr Prouse waited on the Board to gg_e if they could put some sort of c ‘Varing on the passige floor in the Board’s building. Mr Cathie was given charge of the surfaceman for the month It was also resolved to aek the residents of Waverley to observe 2nd Janua-y as a public holiday. It was resolved, that Mr Burrell’s account of £4 10s be piid. The Clerk of the Mauaia Town Board wrote stating, that his Board charged 10s per head lioansfl fee per half year for grazing stock on the roads. It was resolved that the- matter stand over for the present. The Secretary of the JRestar works wrote quoting prices for restar.—Held over. Messrs Turnbull and Jones wrote asking for payment of their account for installing the light in the Town Board’s building, The work had not been com plet’d and it decided that the account be held over until Mr Climie’s next visit. . It was also resolved that a public meeting of ratepayers be held before the poll is taken and that Mr Olimie. be asked to attend. , " The question of a strong room was 'discussed at length.
