An Interesting Career,

The newly appointed Engineer, Mr H. P. Toogood, has had a most interesting career and from the testimonials and particulars received, he should prove to be the right man in the right place for the Board. Bom 35 years ago he was at 27 years of age appointed Resident Engineer for Messrs Howard Erskine Ltd, in the Rangoon Port Trust Improvements and had under his control the construction of ferro concrete retaining walls, steel and to-iuforced concrete wharves, transit sheds and wharf equipment to the value of £150.000. 'At the successful completion of this work the Public Works Department of Burma, offered Mr Toogood an appointment at a salary of £SOO per year. This however, Mr Toogood saw fit to decline.
