The following is a copy of a letter forwarded by tho member for Patea, Mr G. V. Pearce to Mr E. L. Barton, Mayor of Hawera in reply to a communication for the latter, with reference to a Coronation Memorial for Hawera, “In reply to yours of June 9, I nm pleased to give you a subscription toward a permanent memorial of tho Coronation of our King, George V.— tho ceremony at which ho is crowned, and takes tho oath to act with justice to all his subjects. A new type of State school has been designed by tho Victorian Public Works Department, and tho first is to bo creoted at Kow to meet the increase of population. Tho building will be of weatherboard, tho insido lined with asbestos sheets, above a jarrah dado. The roof will bo of corrugited iron.
